Wembdon Road to Victoria Road Cycle Scheme

A new scheme to support walking and cycling in Bridgwater was unveiled in February 2021 after Somerset Councils received approximately £450k of Government funding. The project was allocated Active Travel funding and was overseen by Somerset's Active Travel Group, representing the five local councils, police and health.

The aim of the scheme was to deliver an improved walking and cycling route from Wembdon Road to Victoria Road to improve accessibility between the town centre and residential areas.  A community engagement and consultation process ran through February 2021 with communities and businesses to help shape the scheme. 

As of October 2021, the scheme has essentially been completed.
