From personal experience the map indicating 30 mins cycle travel to the town centre is inaccurate. I live in Staple Fitzpaine and often cycle to the town centre. It takes me less than 30 mins on an e-bike. The area should be much wider, especially as e-bike use increases. Ultimately I believe e-bikes will become the main type of commuter bike.

What would you like to see in future versions of the plan?

For all road adjustments, cycle journeys should be considered, they should not be added in as an after thought

Its a good start but not very ambitious

What would you like to see in future versions of the plan?

Plans made to prioritise cycle transport over motorised vehicle use. At present all cycle plans have to fit in with the current car use.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about walking and cycling in Taunton?

Cycling in Taunton could be A LOT better with a few really simple change, especially now the Highway Code has been changed. To encourage cycling in Taunton, cyclists must feel safe, but also if cyclists have a clear route, which stops less than cars then cycling will be faster and people will chose to cycle.

Plan does not account enough for areas outside Taunton that link to it, particularly Wellington and Bishops Lydeard.

What would you like to see in future versions of the plan?

Clear, safe routes to nearby areas of population.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about walking and cycling in Taunton?

Would like to see more signposting showing priority for walkers and cyclists.

there is nothing about connecting Cotford st luke to town with a cycle path. you can easily get to the town centre within 30mins on a bike from Cotford st Luke. both roads are dangerous for cyclists and the village should be connected.
